Josef Szynalik

A Josef Szynalik left Europe on Oct 10, 1911 and arrived in Philadelphia on Oct. 24, 1911.  The passenger manifest shows that he was born about 1880 and his wife’s name was Katarina.  He indicated that his destination was Wenona, IL.  On the second page of the manifest, he also indicated that passage was paid for by his brother, Jan Szynalik.  It appears that Josef was John Senalik’s brother.

Unfortunately, the trail ends there.  No record of Katarina is in the immigration records nor is there any record of Josef in the 1920 or 1930 census records.  What happened?  Did he go back to Poland?  Maybe with a little more detective work, we will track him down.

For a picture of Josef and his wife, look in the photo gallery.
